The Stained Glass Museum offers a unique insight into the fascinating history of stained glass, an art-form that has been practised in Britain for at least thirteen hundred years. The museum is an independent accredited museum and registered charity (CIO 1169842), located in the south triforium of Ely Cathedral (accessed by a staircase of 40 steps).

Their permanent gallery displays over 125 stained glass panels representing eight hundred years of the history of this ancient art, from the thirteenth century to the present day. All the stained glass panels in the gallery are displayed at eye-level to provide a rare close-encounter with the art of stained glass. They also provide temporary exhibitions throughout the year from the Museum's reserve collection. It is a key attraction in the city attracting more than 26,000 visitors each year.
