Watts Gallery - Call Closed
Watts Gallery require a partner to provide a revenue management system alongside an integrated reporting and CRM solution which allows the business to gain a better understanding of its customers and finances.
Watts Gallery - Artists Village is nestled in the Surrey countryside surrounded by natural beauty and is home to galleries, artists’ studios, creative spaces, historic venues, and the Grade 1 listed Watts Chapel. Watts Gallery - Artists Village stands in a unique position offering a stunning day out.
The gallery first opened in 1904, purpose-built to permanently display over 100 works by George Frederic Watts as well as many temporary exhibitions showcasing only the finest works produced of the Victorian period.
The Watts Chapel was designed and created by Mary Watts, with the support of the local people of Compton, and today is recognised as one of the most original and fascinating buildings in Britain, a fusion of art nouveau, Celtic, Romanesque, and individual style. Not her only achievement, Mary was a fierce philanthropist and continued teaching craft skills for the greater good.
G F Watt was also interested in pressing social issues leading to a series of paintings, Found Drowned, The Seamstress or The Song of the Shirt, The Irish Famine and Under a Dry Arch, expressing the importance of these issues. An additional painting The Good Samaritan marks an important stage as Watts employed symbolism rather than realism to speak out about poverty.
The Watts Gallery remains inspired by this vision and continues in its mission to do justice to this history through taking part in research and local action in economic and social impacts, as well as environmental sustainability.
Watts Gallery - Artists Village is a major tourist attraction in Surrey for events and exhibitions.
