Built 125 years ago as a bascule bridge to allow ships to pass through the lifted roadways, the iconic Tower Bridge is considered a marvel of Victorian engineering.  Today, Tower Bridge is still a working bridge with an average 850 bridge lifts each year.

Tower Bridge is a ‘must-see’ visitor attraction and heritage site, welcoming well over 850,000 visitors into the Towers, Walkways and Engine Rooms in 2019. As well as self-guided visits, Tower Bridge hosts a range of tours, cultural events, venue hire, group visits and learning sessions for schools and families.

Tower Bridge generates income for the benefit of City Bridge Trust and is owned, funded and managed by The City of London Corporation.
